If you're asking yourself "why would I ever do that?", skip reading this - otherwise you already know why - here's the solution ...
Firefox is my default browser. It seems faster. However I still must use IE for sites that don't work with Firefox (sound familiar). In addition, it gives me great pain to think of my bookmarked / favorited websites now being spread across two browsers. I also like that IE favorites are individual files - I can manage them in the file system, copy them, migrate them, etc.
PlainOldFavorites is a Firefox add-in that lets Firefox use IE Favorites to both read and write "Bookmarks" - so no matter which browser you find that new gem of a website in, your folder structure and location for saving it are always the same. There are tips on the PlainOldFavorites website for turning off the "Bookmarks" menu if you want to - however, you should be aware that PlainOldFavorites cannot bookmark a set of tabs.
