It has been many moons since I asked Sysinternals if they had thought of combining regmon and filemon for a single process  ...

At the time they told me "watch for something called ProcessMonitor" - and now it has arrived.  It basically does both registry and file montoring and through filtering you can focus it on a single process.  This will show registry and file access interleaved at the exact time they occur.  The filtering capability has been dramatically enhanced beyond just process name with a many attributes of processes that can be used to include the process in monitoring.  The monitoring also notes the loading of DLLs.

For those involved in application compatibility testing or setup capture, this utility is sure to come in very handy!
