Since my first exposure to Thinstall I knew it was rock solid technology and was approaching the challenges of application virtualization in an architecturally unique way that made it very robust.  I remember thinking the same thing with the 2.0 release of VMWare VMWare Workstation.

This move also rounds out VMWare's virtualization offerings - a much needed strategic move since whole machine virtualization carries many licensing, management and threat protection concerns that application virtualization does not.  In fact application virtualization via Thinstall makes contributions to these critical concerns rather than making them more complex.
