Friday, April 14 2006 @ 09:27 AM CST
Contributed By: Darwin Sanoy

Microsoft is making a new market play with the new free "Express" versions of their popular programming languages and development environment.  This book can be helpful to administrators who find themselves in need of creating full blown Windows executables...

This book does not assume any programming background.  It has a good layout which takes the learner through practical examples throughout.  It leads the learner through the UI of the tool, then how to build a UI for an application, through programming logic (VB Style) and finally into connecting to external data sources.  Like most books on programming in Visual Basic, the overall focus is on building graphical business applications which allow end users to access and edit databases.  Many admins are in search of system programming in VB - but books that cover VB and Sytem programming are rare.

Friday, October 3 2003 @ 03:21 PM CST
Contributed By: Darwin Sanoy
In the good old days when every computer was hardwired to the network, processing the logon script only when a user first logged on to the computer made sense. Today remote connections are made through VPN and RAS and Windows 2000 has the capability to be dynamically plugged into the network - In all these cases the logon script does not run. This WMI script will ensure that the logon script runs for all of these dynamic connection scenarios. Read on for Version 2.9 Updates and Fixes
