I always wondered how Microsoft created Windows 2000 to be adaptable to create compatibility with older applications, AFTER the OS shipped! Now a little light is shed on this functionality.

This archived webcast by Brian Dowds contains some great material on how the compatibility toolkit works on 2000 and some info on XP's kit.

Thanks to Joel Garrett for dropping me a line about this resource!
