Microsoft Claims National Security Issues with Source Code Disclosure

Microsoft's current bevy of litigation is only superceded in size, complexity and confusion by their website. I am generally not one to follow it blow by blow, but this caught my eye.

Apparently Microsoft is claiming their could be National security issues with full source code disclosure. I have to agree with them and in the short term it would seem that code disclosure is bad idea. My greater concerns are would they have been so forthcoming if it was not to their benefit and what is their strategy to get us all out of this mess? If they are citing risks to the millions of us, surely they can spend a few of their reserve billions on fixing it up for us?
