I purchased Adobe Acrobat for over $200. When installed on Windows XP with Office XP I have to have the poodles go through about 10 burning hoops to get a respectable PDF.

Yes I have installed 5.05 - still many problems. The distiller print driver and PDF Writer application both bomb. The PDFWriter print driver doesn't bomb, but mismatches colors and truncates pages. So I have to print to a postscript printer that saves to a file and manually use the distiller to build pages - what a pain.

Along comes PDF995. Not only is it free - it renders my pages with no problems! I still need Acrobat to set security and other advanced options - but will this ever save me some hassels!

It is implemented strictly as a print driver. If you have any font problems, simple set the print driver to "download soft fonts" when a font is unavailabe.
